Tiger Shroff Escapes Mumbai Firing; Bishnoi Gang Claim and Salman Khan Threat Under Probe

Tiger Shroff Escapes Mumbai Firing; Bishnoi Gang Claim and Salman Khan Threat Under Probe

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped a shooting incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026. Three men on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at his car near Pushpa Narsee Park as he was leaving after playing football.

The incident took place at around 7 pm, close to Juhu police station. According to police reports, the attackers fired several rounds before fleeing on their motorcycle. Tiger was not hit by a bullet, but reports say he suffered minor injuries from broken glass and gunpowder. His driver, identified in reports as Firdaus or Firdosh, suffered a gunshot injury to his hand. Another man, identified as an autorickshaw driver or a bystander in different reports, was also injured.

The incident has raised serious concerns because it happened in a busy Mumbai neighbourhood, close to a police station, while people were gathered nearby.

There is one detail worth noting: media reports have differed on the number of rounds fired. Some early accounts mentioned four or five shots, while a later Times of India report cited seven. The exact sequence is still being reconstructed from CCTV footage and other evidence.

Why was Tiger Shroff at the location?

Tiger had reportedly been playing football with a group that included actors Aparshakti Khurana, Abhimanyu Dassani, Abhishek Bajaj and Karan Veer Mehra. He was leaving the area after the match when fans gathered near his car.

Karan Veer Mehra, whose car was reportedly behind Tiger’s, told NDTV that he heard gunshots and people shouting. At first, he thought the sounds might be fireworks. He said he later noticed blood at the scene and realised that someone had been injured.

Mehra also said people nearby, including children attending a birthday celebration, began running around in confusion. According to his account, the police were called, while Tiger and his driver had already left the spot. His account helps explain the panic at the scene, although the exact sequence of events remains part of the investigation.

What injuries did Tiger Shroff suffer?

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger at his residence late on Sunday. After the meeting, Shinde said the actor had suffered injuries to his hand from gunpowder and pieces of glass.

Photographs released after the incident showed bandages on Tiger’s arm and chest area. However, reports indicate that he did not suffer a gunshot wound. The more serious reported injuries were those sustained by his driver and another person near the vehicle.

Shinde condemned the incident and said strict action would be taken against those responsible. The state government has also faced questions about security in Mumbai following the shooting.

Who claimed responsibility for the shooting?

After the incident, a message attributed to Anil Pandit, who claimed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, circulated on social media. The message claimed responsibility for the attack and warned that people in the film industry who continued working with Salman Khan could be targeted.

Reports also named Harman Sandhu alongside Pandit in connection with the claim. The message alleged that Tiger had previously been warned, but that allegation has not been independently established.

This is an important distinction: a gang claiming responsibility on social media does not, by itself, prove who carried out the shooting or who ordered it. Police must verify the message, examine digital evidence and establish whether the people named were actually involved.

The threat involving Salman Khan is especially concerning because the actor’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area, was targeted in a separate shooting incident on April 14, 2024. That earlier incident led to a major investigation and heightened security around the actor.

Following the latest incident, security was reportedly increased outside Salman’s residence. However, the current investigation must establish whether the Juhu shooting was directly connected to the earlier attack or forms part of a separate criminal plan.

What clues are police examining?

Investigators are working to identify the three men who allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire.

According to police reports, the suspects abandoned the motorcycle near Andheri West railway station and escaped. Police have seized the vehicle and are examining its registration and chassis details. CCTV footage from the area is also being checked to trace the suspects’ movements before and after the shooting.

Police are also examining whether the attackers knew Tiger’s routine. Reports suggest that he regularly visited the area to play football on Sundays, raising the possibility that the shooters had observed his movements beforehand.

That possibility is being investigated; it should not yet be treated as a confirmed finding. CCTV footage, witness statements, forensic evidence and the motorcycle’s trail may help investigators establish whether the attack was planned in advance.

The case has been registered against unidentified accused under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Reports say multiple police teams have been formed to track down the suspects, though accounts have differed on the precise number of teams.

Is this connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s earlier threats?

The alleged gang message has made the shooting more serious from a security perspective. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has previously been linked by investigators and media reports to threats against celebrities, including Salman Khan.

But the responsible way to report this case is to separate three things:

-What is established: Shots were fired at a car carrying Tiger Shroff, and two other people were reported injured.

-What has been claimed: A message attributed to Anil Pandit and associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility and issued a warning involving Salman Khan.

-What remains to be proved: Whether the people behind that message organised the attack, who ordered it and whether it was connected to earlier threats.

These questions matter because online claims can be genuine, exaggerated or deliberately misleading. Investigators will need evidence to determine which explanation fits the facts.

What does this incident mean for Mumbai’s film industry?

The shooting has renewed concerns about the safety of actors and other people working in Bollywood. When a celebrity is targeted in a crowded public area, the risk extends beyond the intended victim. Fans, drivers, passers-by and nearby residents can also be caught in the violence.

It also raises questions about how threats against public figures are assessed and what preventive action can be taken when such threats emerge. However, the investigation must establish whether the shooting was linked to a specific threat before drawing conclusions about the motive.

For now, the immediate priorities are to identify the shooters, establish who planned the attack, verify the gang’s claim and ensure that the injured receive proper treatment.

The biggest unanswered question is not just who pulled the trigger, but who organised the attack and why. Until police establish those facts, the alleged gang connection and the warning to Salman Khan must be treated as claims under investigation, not as proven conclusions.
