Delhi Traffic Police Announces Restrictions and Diversions for INDIA Bloc Rally at Ramlila Maidan

Delhi Traffic Police has put special traffic arrangements in place around Ramlila Maidan for the INDIA bloc's mega rally on Sunday. The measures include restrictions on heavy vehicles, designated parking areas for buses and diversions on selected roads to minimise disruption to regular traffic.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vijayanta Goyal Arya said restrictions had been imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles in areas surrounding Ramlila Maidan. However, certain carriageways have been kept open to ensure essential movement, including access to New Delhi Railway Station, hospitals and emergency vehicles.

She said traffic personnel had been deployed to ensure that local residents face minimal inconvenience during the event.

ITO Traffic Remains Normal, Minto Road May Be Affected

According to Arya, traffic movement at ITO was normal and remained unaffected at the time of her statement. However, commuters travelling between New Delhi and Central Delhi, particularly through Minto Road, could face some disruption.

The traffic police have arranged alternative routes and diversions for affected stretches. Arya said further restrictions or changes could be introduced depending on how the situation develops.

She advised commuters to check the official social media handles of Delhi Traffic Police for the latest traffic updates before travelling, especially if their journeys involve areas around Ramlila Maidan.

Designated Parking for Buses

To manage the arrival of participants, the traffic police have identified specific parking areas for buses bringing people to the rally.

Arya said buses were being directed to these designated locations so that their arrival and parking would not obstruct normal traffic. Participants would then proceed from the parking areas towards Ramlila Maidan.

She also said details of traffic restrictions and diversions had been shared with navigation platforms to help commuters receive updated route information.

Commuters Advised to Plan Their Journeys

The traffic police have indicated that arrangements may be adjusted according to the situation on the ground. Commuters travelling through central Delhi have been advised to check traffic updates and consider alternative routes where necessary.

The arrangements are intended to facilitate the rally while maintaining access for emergency services, hospital visitors, railway passengers and local residents.

For the latest information, commuters should follow official Delhi Traffic Police updates before setting out.
